"NASSI: Rebirth" was a full indoor art installation in an unused storefront in Old Oakland. Through multi-sensory installations, visitors would walk through the peaks and valleys of the African diaspora, experiencing the beauty, pain, culture, and community. Exhibition space was created in collaboration with Alena Museum, Oakland.
African American Arts & CULTURE COMPLEX
The African American Arts & Culture in the Fillmore District of San Francisco facilitates the empowerment of our local community through Afro-centric artistic and cultural expression, mediums, education, and programming. While working with collectives, individual artists and curators, I was honored to design, fabricate and install a series of exhibitions in a public gallery space. Exhibitions include Collegiate Roots, Entrapment to Entertainment and Tomboy: Artwork by Nancy Cato.
